Fixed wire Testing legal requirements can be confusing.  It is important to understand what and why this type of testing is and why it is required?


The fixed wire test is also referred to as electrical periodic testing.  It is an important inspection of your properties wiring structure. The test highlights any potential problems you may not be aware of. 


Tests take place not only to meet the legal requirements of the Electricity at Work Regulations Act 1989.


Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and BS 7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations 18th Edition as amended), it also provides you with evidence that your electrical hard wiring system is safe. 

This type of test should only ever be carried out by fully trained, qualified staff. 

Increasingly, industrial and commercial  insurers are insisting that inspection and testing be carried out on a regular basis.
